That's the first time I've seen "Ursan" and "compete" in the same sentence. You must be really good at pushing 1, 2, 3 over and over.

Yes,it may be boring.
I have not done it myself.
But the people who got them on all character's have a big money/ecto/armbrace/w.e gap between the mixed character ones.

Yes,SF I do say is getting overpowered.
There was a perma-SF before the buff, just harder to do.
If people learned it that way,we would have the same result.

|
Will it be seen in the hall meant for the dervish alone? no, but it can be shown in the HoM when the dervish goes in. That, of course, being the account HoM. I think its impossible to say that each character will have 2 HoMs, seeing how the benefits are account to account, it might be safer to say that there will be 1 HoM per account, not 1 HoM per character. But until ANet updates the HoM, then its all really just speculation and interpretation of the wording.

Yes, please keep this thread based on what it's meant to be about.

As long as you want to show those titles on different characters, its not a waste. Its only a waste if you wanted those titles to be in you HoM only. Want KoaBD on multiple characters? Not a waste

Something i'm wondering is how you will link up accounts in GW2? What's to stop someone else typing my account name into the little box and reaping my rewards? I'm sure there will be something but what? A confirmation email? Type in your GW1 password? I haven't played Guild Wars in around 6 months but even I can definitely see this update as a move for the better .

It will probably be "type in your GW1 account name and password" or "type in your codes from your GW1 game." would be safest to go with account name and password, then people won't sell them unless they are also selling their GW1 account. Reduce the number of selling rewards for GW2.

We are one step from making some titles account-wide (vanquish and etc).
Agreeing with this update does not say we agree with grind, only if you are grinding.
If you got the grind-based title with one character, you can say you dont agree with grind simply by not wanting to grind with other characters.
Lets say, you grinded, didint liked, now not grinding anymore.
You are fraking out, seriously.

They are keeping it what it is meant to be about. HoM (and this new update) is about farming/title grinding to fill it. Ursan and SF are about farming/title/money grinding. Theres very little difference.

Although you have to farm and title grind to fill the HoM, that does not mean that you should relate it to Ursan and SF. Using your logic, anything that is PvE can be related to Ursan and SF and other Farming/idiot builds. Why can't we just keep THIS SINGULAR THREAD Ursan and SF free? All others seem to have a reference to them, not everything in GW revolves around them.

How is SF related to HoM? The only connection is obsidian armour and that is hardly a connection at all.
I like the account based idea. Will wait to see it implemented.
I think others have said would be nice to make things like Treasure Hunter account based. Treasure hunter and Wisdom would be nice, not that I think that will happen.

Offcourse people mention Ursanway and Shadow Form. You can't close your eyes when it comes to those two skills which are controlling the majority of the PvE content atm. You hardly find groups that are non-ursan.
People are frustrated that Anet allows these skills while others are very happy that their unwanted character can finally get into a group with cute bears. I can understand the last group altho I don't really like the skills.
Everything you put in the Hall of Monuments has to do with achievements over time and money spend during that time. People who started collecting stuff late or just want to max it out quickly need money and the fastest ways of making money is by playing elite area's and farming. You can guess what skills are common used in those area's...
Note: Offcourse people can also make money with PvP. Which is one of the best ways atm. Winning an mAT will make you rich, daily tournaments are nice and winning the Hall of Heroes a few times each day will do as well.
Considering that you need the Eye of the North expansion to play with PvE-only skills and that the perma-SF assassins needs 3 chapters and 1 expansion tells me that Anet is still milking money from people. They can always use those extra dollars/euro's with GW2 being far away from us. Beta in 2nd half of 2008 and yet nobody has seen a screenshot yet. Add that they don't even have fully worked out plans with the HoM when they released Eye of the North.
I don't expect them to nerf any of these powerful PvE builds because making money is one of the few things people are playing for. Giving the game a new impuls with changing the Hall of Monuments might stimulate a few players again to keep maxing their Halls. While ecto's are dropping in price other items like Gemstone sets will probably see a boost when people want to buy Tormented weapons.
I don't know yet if I'm happy with this dev. update. Hope they update it soon so I can see it ingame.

Neo, the update is some time in the future. I got the impression from what was written on the website that it is a matter of a month or two.

What he said is true, and Ursan and SF are connected through how you get things done. But thats still a rather loose connection to the HoM, which is my point. Ursan and SF (sadly) rule PvE as king and queen, and the HoM is one of the main reasons why people continue to play PvE. Is there a connection? Yes. Should it be mentioned? I don't see why it should, which is my real point. Sorry if my wording before has confused you, happens a lot .
